Pamela Wildheart with Miyo San of
Hello FM 96.3, the only Japanese radio station in SEA
Radio Star!
There’s no doubt that Pamela Wildheart rings a fond and familiar tune to Singaporeans and residents who listened to radio during the early years.
Hard to ignore, despite her diminutive size, Pamela Wildheart oozes with wit and charm, unforgettable to most.
Putting Pamela Wildheart on air was probably the most exciting thing in Singapore radio. Her early morning and “hyena” laugh as Straits Times Singapore branded it, won and charmed listeners from all over.
Her catapult from producer presenter to finally running the programmes for both English and Malay stations in Radio Heart 91.3 FM gave Pamela Wildheart the much needed showcase for her broadcast talents.
Her seven-year radio stint was no mean feat. Along the way she was called chameleon, the hurricane, non-stop radio set and finally “diplomat’s darling” as The New Paper dubbed her.
These names came about owing to her zest and versatility whether for live shows, recorded voice productions or radio broadcasts. Her regular morning show called Sunny Side Up, became a staple diet for early morning risers.
The show opens with the sound of frying eggs enhanced with Pamela Wildheart’s original song of the same title as she plays guitar.
She is long remembered as the wake-up voice of Singapore radio who interviewed spontaneously superstars like Julio Iglesias, Nirvana, James Ingram, Chicago, Lobo, David Foster, Brendan Fraser, Cindi Lauper, Tracy Huang, Francis Yip, Richard Marx, Himekami, Kitaro, Yukie Nishimura, Tom Jones, Bryan Adams, Rita Coolidge, The Supremes, Tony Bennett, Helen Reddy, Gloria Estefan, Rick Price, Savage Garden, James Ingram, David Foster, Tuck & Patti, Tommy Page, footballer Gary Lineker, David Beckam, football coach Bobby Charlton, famous author Robert Kiyosaki , World Wrestling Federation superstar Jake the Snake and many other personalities from Ambassadors to Heads of State. Her radio shows include wacky snippets like breakfast with Ambassadors, reality travel and even underwater interviews - a rarity then.
On Air!
Radio became Pamela Wildheart. Her multi-faceted personality shone to perfection. From wacky to the husky, love guru in Straight from the Heart- where she read poetry and love messages to long lost lovers, Pamela entertained!
She cooked on air with culinary expert with expert Catherina Hosoi, discuss law and legalities in Lawyer Heart with Dr. Catherine Tay and shared critical views of the latest movies with Kenneth Tan, chairman of the Singapore Film Society for the programme Movie Magic. On a more serious twist, she hosted Dr. Heart with various medical practitioners who shared their expertise on air.
A gifted producer, Pamela’s creativity took an even deeper dramatic twist with her Singapore Ghost Stories adaptation for radio. She once again demonstrated the fun elements of sound effects and music in a radio show rather than just simple airplay.
Perhaps what was really monumental to her rise was the programme Mabuhay Philippines, where she hosted for 7 successful years. The show, while in English became the “on-air” hub of close to 100,000 Filipinos in Singapore.
From the moment she anchored the prime morning show—Singapore and International media went reeling with feverish excitement, obviously captivated by this non-stop bundle of energy waking people up. The Straits Times, The New Paper, ASIAWEEK and publications local and international followed suit and religiously trailed Pamela’s frenzied career.
At the peak of her broadcast career, Pamela voiced 13 in-flight airline programmes for Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Philippine Airlines, Saudi Arabian Airlines, Emirates (to name a few). Her voice literally dominated the airwaves!
While radio appeared to be the highlight of her career in Singapore, Pamela Wildheart is admirably a "par excellence" celebrity show-host until today.
Hosting thousands of shows in her exceptional and dynamic celebrity career, Pamela treasures the memories of the Paseo Grand and Singapore Lions Football Exhibition Match as worthy of a permanent lamination. Close to 35,000 avid football enthusiasts were screaming while this diminutive and petite bundle of energy hosted the show at the National Stadium. While not a football fan, Pamela hosted the Newcastle United visit in Singapore, shook hands with Bobby Charlton, interviewed England Football Captain Gary Lineker and even did a quick interview with David Beckham and team mates.

Pamela Wildheart & The Music
Pamela Wildheart & guitar
Pamela’s musical talents began so much earlier in Cebu, Philippines where she was born to a medical practitioner/physician dad and a culinary expert mom.
Originally Pamela Pilapil, the prestigious family name immediately brings to light the artistic leanings of this talent, being a cousin to Pilar Pilapil, famed and exceptionally talented Filipina beauty queen and actress.
Her early days were filled with singing performances and a “proper” education at the prestigious University of the Philippines. A consistent gold medalist during her early elementary years, Pamela‘s star gradually brightened to music and showhosting as her preferences. Despite all these, she fulfilled her Masters Degree in Mass Communication from Macquarie University Australia and even intends to pursue a PhD, time permitting.
A well-traveled musician and celebrity show host, Pamela has traveled to countries like USA for a Julio Iglesias Interview personally invited by Julio himself, Malaysia to perform at the Petaling Jaya Hilton, Mauritius for deep-sea diving feature, Italy for the World Gold Council radio coverage, Myanmar for a private VIP function, Indonesia for Club Med opening, Turkey for the Turkish Tourism Authority, India for the Uniquely Singapore Programmes and recently Korea. She lived in Japan for three years to fulfill a singing and hosting engagement. Earlier in her career she performed extensively in five-star hotels in her native country the Philippines and was active in solo concerts and musicals.
Her flair for writing inspired her poetry and music as she juggled from the academe to a flashier lifestyle as celebrity showhost and performer. She has written jingles for NTUC Childcare, YAN, Heart 91.3 theme songs and jingles, Natural Flavour, Wyeth, and even the Caldecott Productions’ Opening theme. Many of her songs are still used in commercials and product launches.
Sing with originality and passion!
Concerts will remain a special part of this petite belter. At an early age, she was a finalist for the Metro Pop Cebu contests for song writers with her song Kabataang Paglaum (Children of Hope) which was recorded and arranged by Homer Flores as part of the artistes’ compilation. Her performance range from a Black and White Piano show with celebrated artistes Allan Jayme Rabaya, theatre shows with Cebuana media star Marlinda Angbetic Tan and performances in Metro Manila with Zap band, Katz band then under top artiste management agent Naning Zamora, who groomed only the best from the Philippines.
Her music brought her to countries like Malaysia at the Hilton, Burma, Indonesia, Japan where she lived for 3 years (she learned the spoken language then), India, China, Korea and Singapore where she finally settled down.
Wild & Wicked the album
Never one to stay put, Pamela considers her concert on October 22, 2005 at the Pools Amphitheatre, Jurong BirdPark to raise funds for the park’s conservation effort, as "one of the best moments of my life."
"What an unforgettable moment, to sing with my guitar in a breathtaking, open air ambience, so hard to forget, very electrifying atmosphere, with the right sound system and lighting to match. I’ve sang for a big audience to medium-sized crowds, but here I was, just simply singing the way I like to do, solo with my guitar …without any thought how big or small the audience was. I sang for myself."
The Album Wild & Wicked
Wild & Wicked the album
In 2009 she released her debut album Wild & Wicked last 27 June 2009 at el toro, in Singapore. While tickets were priced at $108++ per head, it was a full house capacity with Pamela getting featured by Straits Times, Razor TV, New Paper and other publications.
Her next performance at DXO in August 2009 was again a full house audience. On stage Pamela Wildheart teased, sang, wooed and won fans, who respected and understood the talent behind her raspy and rock-husky vocal instrument, original compositions and expressive lyrics.
More concerts are coming for 2010 and Pamela is gearing higher for her wild and wacky brand to be stamped and etched into fans and supporter’s hearts whether to Filipinos, Singaporeans or global audiences
“My album is not solely out to please listeners commercially but to satisfy my quench and fiery call for self expression. I found Moliano, one of the best gifted musical geniuses in Singapore who saw my music in the same way I want it to be heard. Moliano is a brilliant music producer who is married to my music making and talent. He never gave up on for 14 years and I owe him the respect he deserves.” Pamela quips.
Today…
Rearing to Go!
Pamela Wildheart is busy with songwriting- despite the debut albums...” I still have zillions of melodies up my head,” she says with gusto…
“I must fulfill my two books…which are in the pipeline, more concerts and hopefully more success in my native Philippines, where some of my songs in Tagalog got its inspiration…and hopefully a doctorate in Intercultural Communications or relevant courses, major desire of becoming a motivational speaker and hopefully even manage my own school.”
Now a free-lancer, Pamela prides herself with genuine friends "who admire, accept and feed my eccentricities despite all the hard times I gave them…With a big plan in the bag, plus more time with my "love" is enough to give me a more balanced existence."
Her big dreams of more holidays with that special love, cooking to perfection, do more musical theatre show; perform more, more charity projects, a solid talk-show TV career, part time radio presenting, more lectures, visit Korea again and travel around the globe are some of the things she dreams of accomplishing sooner than normal. In fact, most are already in progress.
Remaining a "true blue" communicator, Pamela remains a multi-tasking career woman who believes that "there is so much to learn in life, if we only have 300 hours more in a day!"
“Age??? Booh! We age, but I wish to grow with age…Just because the clock ticks does not slow us down. We learn every day,” she exclaims.
While this rapid tornado force called "Pamela Wildheart" may sometimes stun, awe or shock those who are in the pathway, one thing remains Pamela is certainly one, who charms and captivates, if not your attention, your heart!
A perfectionist, Pamela believes that to be a wholesome personality one should "face the challenges and look at it right in the eye. One should continue discovering what is great about living, make new friends always, learn from everyone, explore one’s inner talents and make sure they are used to advantage."
